Barcelona had already qualified for the knockout rounds of the competition before 4-0 win over Glabach Tuesday night but it turned out to be  a much needed morale boost to get their season going again.

Taking  at Camp nou for their final champions league group with Glabach on Tuesday night, Luis Enrique's Barcelona line up against the bundes liga opposition for the second time this season.

After making just eight changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Real Madrid in El Clasico, however the Austrian employed heavy rotation with Jasper cillensen, Samuel umtiti , Lucas Digne, Denis Suraez, Arda Turan, Andres Iniesta and Paco Alcacer all line up.

Lionel Messi, Javier Macherano and Andre Gomes were among the key names to be included however with Luis Enrique keen to secure victory as Barcelona push for a Second  successive Champions win.

In opposition, Gladbach  made four changes from the side that was beaten heavily by Dortmund at the weekend. Jannik Vestergaard, Tony Jantschke, Nico Schulz and Andre Hahn all lineup in the night.

Taking on a German side in poor form and markedly shy in front of goal, Lucho's side will have been confident heading into the clash and this proved to be well placed as they emerged victorious in Catalonia.

Prior to kickoff, there  was a period of silence in memory of members of the Chapecoense team that were killed in a plane crash in Colombia last week.

Dominating proceedings from the first whistle, the Blaugranes looked to overwhelm a shaky Glabach defense with Messi taking up his position on the right wing, Paco Alcacer filling in for Suraez with Arda on the left wing.

And their early control was rewarded with just 16 minutes played when they opened the scoring courtesy of Messi's 10th goal in the Champions League this term!

The Argentine started the passage of play with a neat pass to Turan, who laid the ball back to his team-mate to send his effort beyond the reach of Sommer.

Messi leading the line came close on a number of occasions to his second in the night most notably, Iniesta slides a ball to Leo on the edge of the box but his left footed shot took a deflection off Vestergaard, Sommer still made an outstanding save to turn the ball past the post.

Messi saw his late shot on goal blocked for a corner as Luis Enrique side looked to add flourish to what was a controlled first half display.

Picking up from where they left off after the interval it took Barcelona just five minutes to notch their second of the night when Denis Suraez's cross took a deflection into the path of Arda Turan who had no problem guiding his free header into the bottom corner.

Both Arda and Vidal were in inspired form throughout and Three minutes later the Blaugranes had their third of the night this time with the later laying it through for Arda to notch his second of the night.

Paco Alcacer almost added a fourth but fired straight into Sommer's body after some good work from Messi and Iniesta in the final third, before Luis Enrique withdrew Iniesta allowing Rafinha  to come in.

Jasper who enjoyed a relatively quiet first half was called upon just two minutes after hour mark, as korb wastes the chance by attempting to send the ball down the line for Kramer.

Arda added his third in the night, after Alcacer drifts into the channel then plays the ball across the face of goal for Turan to tap in.

Thereafter, The Argentine almost scored his second in the night as he meets Denis cross with a diving header but Sommer who had being kept very busy in the night, produces an outstanding save to keep his effort out of the net.

Luis Enrique later gave academy midfielder Marc Cardona his first debut with the teenager replacing Arda turan to a standing ovation highlighting the Blaugranes dominance.

Despite continuing to control the game, Barca failed to convert their chances at goal instead playing it out to a comfortable win and next round Beckons.
