Barcelona Can't afford To Slip up against Celtic

Barcelona return to Champions league action on wednessday as Luis Enrique's head to Scotland to take on  group rival Celtic.

After so much optimism following the Blaugrana leaque victory at Sevilla, they came crashing down to earth on Saturday, the goalless draw to Malaga was an appalling performance from start to finish and one that ensured neither the players nor Enrique could leave Camp Nou with their heads held high.

A quick response is needed on Wednessday as Barcelona switch their attention to champions League
group action.  The Catalans are badly in need of securing a win in order to bring a winning
mentality back to the team and champions league group game represents one of their best chances of topping group  c . Another slip up would not go down well, with a return to winning ways very much the order of the day, as Barcelona look to put a stop to a potential early season wobble.

The Scots are without a win in their last seven Champions League outings – and another failure would equal their longest ever win less streak in the competition. They have also gone a record 17 games without keeping a clean sheet, and will do well to end that run against the highest scorers so far in this year’s edition. FC Barcelona lead the way with 14 goals, half of which were scored in the first game against Celtic!

Hopes in Parkhead may have been raised by Barça’s failure to beat Málaga at the Camp Nou last weekend. But facing a wounded Barça is a double-edged sword.
The Catalans’ 7-0 rout of Celtic in September came just three days after the shock 2-1 defeat at home to Alavés . With Messi and Luis Suárez back in the side on Wednesday, may that be a warning!
Not forgetting Neymar Jr! With four goals and five assists in just three Champions League games against Celtic, this is clearly a fixture that he knows how to handle!

Luis Enrique: Whoever doubted Messi is a bit naïve

A n emphatic 4-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League would usually be reason for euphoria, but while Luis Enrique reflected on errors and injuries there was one subject that the Barcelona coach was unequivocal in his response - the form of Lionel Messi.
