Luis Suarez to be awarded Golden Boot on thursday


 



After scoring 40 goals in Barcelona's title-winning campaign Luis Suarez will be awarded with then Golden Boot trophy on Thursday.
The Barcelona forward had an unbelievable season, in which he also contributed 15 assists, as he looks set to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's stranglehold on the trophy. This will be Suarez's second time winning the award after tying with Cristiano Ronaldo for 1st place in 2013/14 with 31 league goals scored. Juan Ignacio Gallardo, director of MARCA, and Cees Van Cuilenborg, secretary general of the European Sports Media, will award the Uruguayan with the award after being Europe's top goalscorer in the 2015/16 campaign. The event will also be streamed on MARCA.com and Facebook Live.
